The Florida State Seminole’s advanced to the 2018 NCAA Women’s Cup National Semifinals with a 1-0 shutout of Penn State. This is the 10th time in school history and first time since 2015 that the Seminole’s will be vying for the Champion’s trophy.

Malia Berkley played the full 90 minutes for Florida State and gave the Seminole’s a chance to score in the 14th minute on a pass into the box that was grabbed by the Penn State goal keeper just before teammate Yujie Zhao could get a foot on the ball. Megan Connolly played the final 8 minutes of the game.

The Seminoles face Stanford on Friday, November 30 at WakeMead Soccer Park in Cary, NC.

Seven Motor City FC Alumnae were named to the 2018 United Soccer Coaches All-Region Teams.

Alexa Spaanstra of Virginia was named to the Atlantic Region First Team while teammate Courtney Petersen made the Second Team.

University of Michigan’s Sara Stratigakis and Reilly Martin along with Northwestern’s Marisa Viggiano were named to the North Region Second Team.

Taylor Kornieck of Colorado was named to the Pacific Region First Team and Mississippi State’s Carly Mauldin was named to the Southeast Region Third Team.
